Chat & Tracker Inbox

As a workspace grows, it becomes difficult to remember which pages need attention.

Some pages contain ongoing conversations. Others contain trackers that need periodic updates. Opening every page in the tree just to check whether something changed quickly becomes tedious.

The Inbox exists to solve that problem.

Chats

Every Byblos page can have its own discussion.

This keeps conversations attached to the pages they refer to, but it also creates a new challenge. If you have dozens or hundreds of pages, you do not want to open every page just to check for replies.

The Inbox shows chat threads with unread messages across the entire workspace. You can immediately see which discussions need attention and respond to them without opening the page first.

When you do need more context, you can jump directly to the page and continue the conversation there.

Conversations stay attached to pages, but you do not have to hunt through pages to find new conversations.

Trackers

A tracker is a simple way to record a value that changes over time. Suppose you are monitoring a stock price, the cost of a product, the lead time for a component, the number of open positions on a job board, or any other value that changes periodically. A tracker lets you record that value directly on the page where you found it. Visit the page, note the value, and append it to the tracker. Over time, the tracker becomes a small history of how that value changed.

Trackers are intentionally simple. They do not attempt to automatically scrape websites or compete with dedicated monitoring software. They are a lightweight way to answer the question: "How has this number changed over time?" while keeping the data attached to the page it came from.

Tracker Reminders

Most tracked values are only useful if they are updated regularly. A tracker can be configured to request updates daily, weekly, or monthly. When an update is due, the tracker appears in the Inbox. The Inbox tells you which trackers need attention, so you do not have to remember them yourself. When a tracker appears in the Inbox, simply visit the page, check the current value, and record it.

Over time, the workspace becomes a living record of both discussions and measurements.
